As a flexible program, this minor may be completed while students are pursuing any undergraduate degree at LAU.

What Will I Learn?

When you graduate with a minor in Translation, you will be able to:

• Critically analyze journalistic, legal, business, economic, technical, scientific, audiovisual and official texts.
• Develop, manage, and navigate linguistic databases, as well as expand your personal bilingual glossary in a wide array of fields.
• Adapt each text according to its target audience and contextual and cultural background.
• Effectively utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and AI-driven technologies.
• Translate seamlessly between source and target languages, maintaining accurate terminology and fidelity to the author’s intent and stylistic clarity.

Your Career

This minor will help you develop interdisciplinary skills in language. It will also enhance your skills in bilingual communication, cross-cultural mediation, terminology management and textual analysis. It will prepare you for a wide range of professional fields that demand precise language skills, such as media, TV and film, publishing, education, business, law, healthcare, technology and international organizations.
